Granite & Quartz Countertop Installation

Granite

Coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase.

Onyx

Type of chalcedony, which is itself a form of microcrystalline quartz. Onyxes have straight, nearly parallel bands or layers of color, which allow skilled gem carvers to cut away material to create cameos and intaglios with extraordinary depth and contrast.

Quartz

Made from 90 to 95 percent natural crushed minerals which are then formed into slabs. Considering it is man-made, the designs and colors can be highly customized and variegated to provide more options for clients. In comparison to granite, quartz countertops have more options for designs, texture and color.

Quartzite

Hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock which was originally pure quartz sandstone. Pure quartzite is usually white to grey, though quartzites often occur in various shades of pink and red due to varying amounts of hematite.
